
Alexandra Rose Raisman (born May 25 in 1994) is a retired American artistic gymnast, and a two-time Olympian. She was captain of both the 2012 and 2016 U.S. Olympic women's gymnastics teams. She took home a team gold medal during the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Gabby Douglas and Raisman are the only Americans to have back-to-back gold medals from this event. Raisman also took home silver in the all-around individual competition and floor exercise. Raisman was awarded silver medals in the all-around for the individual in addition to the floor exercise. She was also two-time national champion in the floor exercise (2012 in 2012 and 2015) and the 2012 champion of the national team on the balance beam and a five-time medalist in the all-around event at the national championships (silver in 2016, and bronze in 2010, 2011, 2012 and in 2015). She was inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.
