Melissa Oneil

MelissaMelissa Crystal O'Neil was born on July 12, 1988[1].] She is a Canadian singer and actress. O'Neil, the first Canadian female winner of Canadian Idol's 3rd season was awarded the title in 2005. She is an actress and is famous for her performances as Two / Rebecca as Two / Rebecca / Portia Lin on the Syfy science fiction series Dark Matter and as Officer Lucy Chen on the ABC police procedural drama series The Rookie.Although she was highly praised by the judges, O'Neil suffered huge setbacks in both the Top 10 and Top 9 weeks of the finals because she was in both the third and fourth places in both the bottom three and bottom two. The judges were stunned by this and encouraged viewers to decide to vote Melissa for her vocal talent. In the following weeks, O'Neil never fell back into the bottom three after repeatedly receiving praise for her performances, and judge Zack Werner declaring that she was "a contender to win the whole contest". On September 7, 2005 O'Neil made it to the final two stages of the contest, along with Rex Goudie. After some more impressive performances, judge Werner famously said that the headlines in the next day's newspapers would read "The King, Kalan Porter is dead and the Queen will live forever." At the grand finale's results ceremony on September 14, 2005, O'Neil defeated Goudie to become the third Canadian Idol, as well as being the first female winner and (at 17) the youngest contestant in the show's history.
